The Generation sale is the only one I have checked this year where the banner is telling you the truth. It says up to 50 percent off. It means 50 percent off. And after going through six brand sales in a row, I cannot tell you how rare that is.

Most brands hide behind “up to”. At J. Junaid Jamshed, 62.5 percent of the sale is 30 percent off or less, and at Bachaa Party it is 53.9 percent. Here, nothing at all is discounted below 41 percent, and 91 percent of the sale sits at a flat 50. The median discount is exactly 50 percent.

So this is a really good sale. There is just one thing about it that you need to know before you buy, and it is a big one.

As of 27 August 2026 the Generation Annual Summer Sale holds 119 products and every single one is discounted. The range covers embroidered anarkali suits, velvet kotis, modern lawn, unstitched pieces, kurtas, trousers and accessories, spread across named collections like Ribbon Radiance, Sheesh Mahal, Pastel Collage, NKR, Zouk and the Knack x Gen collaboration.

Generation has always been a slightly different kind of Pakistani brand, more design led, more colour confident, less interested in copying whatever Khaadi did last season. The sale reflects that: it is organised by collection rather than by fabric, which takes a minute to get used to.

If you want maximum rupees off a single piece, Ribbon Radiance and Pastel Collage are where the money is, both saving over Rs 9,200. If you want the most fun for the least money, Knack x Gen accessories at Rs 729 are the easiest yes in the sale.

The 75 Percent Items Worth Hunting

The Spring Fling bottoms at 75 percent off are the standout. Trousers down from Rs 7,998 to Rs 1,999 is the kind of price you normally only see in a shop clearance basket. And bottoms are the safest thing to buy blind, because waist sizing is much easier to get right than a fitted shirt.

This is the trade off. Generation gives you the most honest pricing in Pakistani retail and the least forgiving returns policy. Every other brand on my list gives you at least 3 days, and Gul Ahmed gives you 30.

Price wise, Generation lands in the upper high street. A typical Ribbon Radiance piece at Rs 9,267 sits well above Gul Ahmed womenswear at Rs 3,783, above Sana Safinaz stitched at Rs 6,628, and squarely in upper high street territory.

What you are paying for is design. Generation prints and cuts are more adventurous than the mass market brands, and the collections have actual points of view rather than being fabric plus embroidery. If you have ever felt like everything on the high street looks the same, this is the brand that fixes that.

How to Shop the Generation Sale

1. Hunt the 25 items above 50 percent first. The Spring Fling bottoms at 75 percent off are the best value in the sale.
2. Buy bottoms and unstitched with confidence. Waist sizing is easy to get right and unstitched can be adjusted, which matters when size is not a valid complaint.
3. Be cautious with fitted anarkalis and kotis. Beautiful, but you cannot send them back for fit.
4. Open the parcel the same day, in daylight. You have 24 hours and you need photographic proof of any defect.
5. Do not remove tags until you have decided. Original packing and tags are required for any exchange.
6. Use the flat 50 percent to budget. Whatever you are willing to spend, double it and that is the original price range you are shopping.

• Fitted formal pieces if you are unsure of size. No fit based exchanges, and 24 hours to notice anything wrong.
• Anything you plan to open next week. The window is one day from delivery, not one week.
• Impulse buys on the expensive collections. Half of Rs 18,534 is still Rs 9,267 leaving your account.
• Nothing on discount grounds. Genuinely, this is the one sale where I cannot tell you a category is a rip off, because the flat 50 applies to everything.
